We operate a Museum & Archive (including the City Archive), and run programs, events, and all manner of heritage and culture-related activities.
Established in 1988, PoCo Heritage preserves Port Coquitlam's history and culture for future generations. Volunteers coordinate displays at the Museum & Archives and Port Coquitlam City Hall. These displays feature historical photographs, First Nations artifacts, tools, collectibles, maps, and antiques. Volunteers also catalogue historical photographs, newspapers, and other documents. The Society manages an expanding collection of photographs and videos, some of which can be seen on our website. We are also involved in initiatives to save historically significant structures and sites. The Museum & Archives is located in the Outlet building, PoCo's former post office, on McAllister Avenue. The Museum is open whenever the Outlet (customer service and Ticketmaster) is open. The Archives are accessible to the public when volunteers or staff are present. Our MISSION is to engage the public by offering informational and enjoyable programs and displays that highlight the unique and special history of Port Coquitlam and surrounding area.
