General Info

Founded more than 130 years ago by William Booth, The Salvation Army is a religious and social service organization, a branch of the Christian Church dedicated to the battle against sin and despair. There is an integrated ministry to body, mind and soul. The Army seeks not only to improve the physical environment and provide for material needs, but also to reveal the power of Christ's love. Its social services programs assist children, the elderly, families, and those battling addiction. The Western Territory, one of four territories in USA, operates under the leadership of Commissioner James Knaggs. The territory is divided geographically into 10 divisions, each headed by a divisional commander. Divisions are comprised of the corps community centers or churches and other specialized service centers. The corps is the basic service unit of The Salvation Army and provides religious and social services adapted to the needs of the community. The Intermountain Division services Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Eastern Montana. To find your local Salvation Army, or to learn more about the Army's ministry in your area, please visit our website.

Harm Reduction Action Center
231 E Colfax Ave Denver , CO 80203 United States

For the past 14 years, the HRAC has been CO's primary provider of public health information, programming, and advocacy. The Harm Reduction Action Center is the only Colorado public health agency specifically focusing on injection drug users and their sexual partners that would not otherwise have access to appropriate health education, healthcare services, and emotional support designed specifically for the needs and culture of the IDU community. Formerly known as the “Little Red House” in the West side of Denver, the Harm Reduction Action Center serves more than 1,700 people affected by injection drug-use every year. HRAC (formally known as the Harm Reduction Project/Drop-In Center) is a recognized expert in providing HIV & Hepatitis C prevention programming, using harm-reduction principles to reduce the negative consequences of drug use impacting individuals, families and the larger community. Harm reduction enables us to meet drug users "where they're at," addressing the conditions of use along with the use itself. The Harm Reduction Action Center develops personal relationships with clients, guided by compassion, mutual respect, and evidence-based solutions, empowering clients to reduce the harmful effects of marginalized lifestyles. We are located at 733 Santa Fe Drive in Denver, Colorado. We are open for client drop-in services Monday through Friday from 9am to noon.
