Tin Lizzy Treasures truly does hold 100's of one of a kind memories. For both myself and all the shoppers who come looking for something that reminds them of a memory from their past. It all began many years ago with my Mom and ×Dad who loved to go what they'd call "junking." They'd go to garage sales, swap meets, junk stores, garbage dumps and any other place they thought they might find something interesting. I have many fond memories of picking through garbage dumps while keeping an eye on a bear that thought it was HIS garbage dump. Over the years they collected literally 1000's of things from all over ×Western Canada and the Northwest States. Everything from gorgeous Murano Glass to Horse Hanes! My Dad always dreamed of restoring vintage cars when he retired from being a fire fighter. The first one he did was a 1926 Model T Doctors Coupe (that I still own) which he brought home from ×Saskatchewn in many pieces and full of bullet holes. He lovingly restored it to pristine condition. He went on to restore 6 cars between retirement and passing away at the ripe old age of 91. Along the way he decided he needed a building to house all his cars. He built a 2 story building. The bottom floor for his cars and automobilia and the upstairs was turned into a "museum" to hold all of his and my Moms treasures. They named the building the "Tin Lizzy Building." The upstairs of the building is divided into rooms just like a house. There's a workshop full of vintage & antique tools, hardware, farm equipment, horse harnesses and gear. A kitchen full of graniteware, cook books, coffee grinders, kitchen utensils and more. A sitting room with lamps, figurines, typewriters, old prints and photographs, a pump organ, vintage sheet music etc. A bedroom full of vanity sets, perfume bottles, old medicine bottles, dresser sets and clothing. and last but not least a dining room full of vintage dinnerware - Wedgewood, Aynesley, Royal Doulton, flatware & silverware, tobacciana, and all kinds of tiny little treasures in a glass showcase. Every time I open a drawer or box or look on the back of a shelf I find something I never knew was there. When my ×Dad passed away, I inherited everything and just can't keep it all. Plus I keep adding to the collection because I inherited the "junking" gene from my ×Mom and Dad! I couldn't bear to have an auction or sell it to a dealer and see it all disappear overnight so I chose to start selling it online. Donna - Tin Lizzy Treasures
