General Info

TOPAZ HOCKEY VICTORIA, BC Since 2007 – Present 2014 @ Topaz Park / Year Round / Rain or Shine SUMMER: 1 pm – 6 pm (April 6 – October 26, 2013) WINTER: 12 Noon - 5 pm (November 2 – March 30, 2013) ADULT LEAGUE (19+) We are a local non-profit organized outdoor ball hockey group. Every summer/fall we purchase a permit from the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation for the usage of Topaz Park’s lacrosse/hockey box. We encourage members of the community to drop-in. “We are all about having great Sportsmanship while having Fun playing Hockey with good friends; mixed age levels & mixed skill levels, with one thing in common; passion for hockey.” (Please read below for further details regarding drop-in & fulltime information.) Bring your “A” game; & of course bring a stick & some gloves. Other gear for “players” is optional. Some players do use shin pads & jock. We do play with a mix of players on foot & on rollerblades, so rollerblades are optional & accepted. We even the teams out with players on foot & on blades, so all is fair. Make sure u bring some water & some food as well, you’ll need the energy, trust me. - All “goalies” that intend to play must have proper goalie gear & be fully dressed, no exceptions. All players agree to play at their own Risk. Bring a white & dark jersey or shirts.WINTER IS FREE! Summer & Fall Hockey is $75 dollars to register for a fulltime spot. ( April 6, 2014 to October 26, 2014, which includes 26 guaranteed days of hockey, 2-3 games a day, equals an average of 60 games.) Since fulltime players have paid into the permit, they have the first rights to play; as we have a capacity limit at 26 players per Sunday & 2 Goalies. Once all the guys show up; if we don’t have a full roster, we allow “drop in players” to play for a $4 fee. We will keep track of stats, all goals, assists & games played for all players & for goalies we will keep track of all goals for, all goals against & games played. ALL players will be able to access (NO Password required) & view all the stats each week in 2013. As you know we are non-profit thus any funds created from fulltime fees & drop-in fees go back into the hockey; from nets to gear to balls & even a Year End Celebration & Awards Ceremony. (The awards ceremony is only for fulltime members; that have paid the fulltime fee.) Awards would be for such things as top goal scorer, top assist leaders, most points, most games played, most consecutive game played, best goalie etc… Trophies that are presented are Club Trophies, which means your name will go on the trophy & you can hold on to it for a year, then after it will be given back to the club; thus for the new year & new winner. Only for fulltime members: We have a 10% Discount at Kirby’s Source for Sports, mention you play in “Topaz Hockey League” for the discount & they will look up your name. - Effective in April once fulltime members pay.
