I have been appointed by the Attorney-General as a Authorised Civil Marriage Celebrant (Registration Number - A15990) and am also a member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants. I partake in on-going professional development yearly to ensure I am kept up to date within the industry. I have Professional Indemnity, Public Liability Insurance and Copyright Protection. Every person has a different idea of the perfect wedding is, it may be relaxed, formal, big or small. As your celebrant I will discuss with you your beliefs and values to create a wedding that is perfect for you. It is my aim to ensure that every wedding I perform flows well, engages your family and friends, and expresses what it is that makes your bond so special. Every ceremony I create is individually written and designed to tell your story. Along with a copy of your wedding ceremony and wedding certificate you will receive a small gift from me as a keep sake and thankyou for choosing me to take part in your special day. You will find out immediately on meeting me that I pay alot of attention to detail and treat every wedding I do as if it was my very own :) I promise to put you at ease, prepare all the documents in plenty of time and give you confidence that your wedding day will go off without any hiccups.

General Info

HOW TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY Please contact me on 0406 229 981 or email me at mareestorey@hotmail.com and I will confirm my availability with you for the date of your wedding. I will also answer any questions you have regarding the ceremony and discuss the legal requirements with you. During this call I will also arrange a time for our first meeting. AT OUR FIRST MEETING I am happy to visit you at home or you can come to my home office in Douglas, Townsville. At the first meeting we will fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form and I will lodge this on your behalf. This form must be lodged with me at least 1 month prior to the wedding ceremony and no earlier than eighteen months prior to the date of your wedding. It is at this meeting that we will discuss your wedding ceremony and design something that you are happy with. I have lots of samples or readings. vows, wedding songs etc that you may have a look at for inspiration and take away to look over. I find each wedding I do very unique to that couple and together we will create a ceremony just for you. My fee includes the preparation and lodgement of all required legal paperwork, Marriage Ceremony, Marriage Certificate on the day and travelling costs within Townsville on the day of the ceremony also, as many emails or phone calls as required and unlimited support to you as your celebrant. My fees are $450.00 and this fee includes everything. A non- refundable deposit of $200.00 is required to be paid at this first meeting to secure the date and time of your wedding and the balance of monies are to be paid 2 weeks prior to the ceremony date. WHAT TO BRING TO OUR FIRST MEETING The bride and groom will need to bring: An original birth certificate if born in Australia or an original birth certificate or overseas passport if born overseas. If the birth certificate is not in English, this must be accompanied by a certified translation. If either the bride or groom is divorced they will need to bring their Divorce Decree Absolute papers these too must be original. If either the bride or groom is widowed they will need to bring the Death Certificate of their previous spouse. If you do not have your birth certificate it is easily obtained from the Births, Deaths and Marriage website. If you are born in Australia you must produce your birth certificate. SECOND MEETING Second meeting is arranged just prior to the ceremony to sign the final legal documents. This meeting is also set aside for the wedding rehearsal if you require one. The balance of my fee is payable at this meeting. DAY OF THE CEREMONY ■ I will arrive on time approximately 30-45 minutes prior to the ceremony time. ■ I will be appropriately dressed for the occasion. ■ You will need two witnesses over the age of 18 for the marriage to take place. ■ Most ceremonies will last 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the content of readings and/or poems chosen by the bride and groom. ■ Provide you with a Marriage Certificate on the day. ■ Provide you with a copy of your ceremony and a small gift. ■ If your ceremony is being conducted in a location that would be affected by rain or other inclement weather, you will need to consider/provide an alternate venue as a backup. AFTER THE CEREMONY DAY ■ I will lodge your documents with Births, Deaths and Marriages and take full responsibility for all aspects of this process. ■ If you have filled out an application for a Marriage Certificate I will also send this in and the certificate will come directly back to you from Births, Deaths and Marriages.
