Welcome to the Toyshack! Bruce and Krista Toshack are happy to help you find that special toy that brings back warm childhood memories or adds to your personal collection. Vintage toys hold very personal meaning, as a collector or as a special gift. Bruce is a volunteer firefighter and found meaning in collecting antique firefighting memorabilia, including toy fire trucks. Having grown up on a local farm, his collection expanded to farm toys and toy trucks of a Canadian origin. Krista's love for wild animals resulted in collecting vintage mohair animal toys. As an Occupational Therapist, Krista particularly appreciates those produced by Steiff, because the founder began producing animals in Germany in the 1880's, from her wheelchair, overcoming the challenges of childhood polio. Like any collectors, we have expanded our collection to include tin toys, miniatures, stoves, advertising, retro kitchen items, dairy items, toy banks, tins, die cast toys, petroliana and a variety of Canadian made toys. We also have a healthy collection of toy parts and reference books available. You are welcome to call us if you need help to identify a childhood treasure or find a new home for part of your collection. In closing, we want you to know that, first and foremost, we are collectors, who share your passion and are rewarded by helping you find your treasure amongst our own collection. We have locations in the Gore Street Antique Market in Perth as well as the Almonte Antique Market and are happy to make arrangements to meet you at either location.
