Liz is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Remedial Massage Therapist. Liz works with Bendigo Pioneers Football Club running rehabilitation programs and strength and conditioning sessions to prevent injuries. Liz has previously worked with athletes from the Bendigo Academy of Sport and Westvic (Ballarat) Academy of Sport, Victorian Figure Skating representatives along with other football clubs and volleyball squads. Liz specialises in treating sporting injuries and getting athletes to optimal fitness and peak performance for improved performance and an injury free season through the use of massage techniques along with individually tailored exercise programs. What is an Exercise Physiologist? An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a university qualified allied health professional. They specialise in creating exercise programs for people at risk, or with existing chronic and complex medical conditions and injuries. These programs include health and physical activity education, advice and support and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change. EPs are the most qualified health professional to prescribe exercise for people with chronic disease, with a holistic approach to your well being. What is a Remedial Massage Therapist? Remedial massage is a deep massage that returns the body to normal health after injury. It works by increasing the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas. It is used to treat strains, sprains, broken bones, bruising or any injury where the skin is intact. Deep tissue massage removes blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions left after injury.
