Description

Vanessa Baker is a stylist who has been setting benchmarks and raising the bar of excellence for all of her 13yrs in the business and is showing no signs of letting up. Vanessa graduated from the Baldwin beauty school in 1999, which along with intensive training under Steven Todd, earned her a position at Spa at the lake. For the next 5 years she would not only be one of the leading young stylists for the salon but she would be part of a national L’Oreal team traveling the country as a platform artist both teaching and creating color techniques and hairstyles. In 2005 Vanessa had the opportunity to open her own salon called Lush Salon. Lush Salon would give Vanessa the opportunity to continue two passions on her own terms, customer service and educating stylists. As part of the in house education program developed by Vanessa, stylist would be exposed to educators from the Redken Exchange New York and through Vanessa be taught the skill necessary to become Redken Certified Stylists. Surrounded by a strong team of stylists and a dedication to making every customer feel special helped propel Lush Salon to the 2011 Salon Today Magazine Top 200 salons in the nation for growth in a calendar year. This was competition measured all areas of salon business in calendar years 2008 and 2009—two of the toughest years for all businesses. For a salon to not only survive, but thrive during these years, strong leadership, solid systems, motivated employees and loyal customers were mandatory. In 2012 after 12 years in the Lakeway area Vanessa felt it was time to make a move and as chapters open and close, so brought Vanessa to her current opportunity as lead educator\stylist for Pearl Salon and Skin Studio. Once her time was done at Pearl it was time for the Vanessa chapter of giving back. Vanessa has returned to Lakeway and the Studio Elite Salons allowing her to continue her growth as a stylist and start giving back to a community that has been so generous to her....Stay tuned, More to come.
