My Shoe Obsession by Sheena Juffermans I think like most women my shoe obsession started young. My mother dressed well, was a hard working business woman who had to balance making money and providing for her children with being a good parent. The image that holds the most boldly in my mind is while she was away trying on all her clothes and shoes! Life obviously takes you away on adventures like mud pies and bike rides for a few years, but when hormones and being a woman ultimately kick in again I found myself attracted to out there shoes. Stuff that wasn't conventional and really grabbed attention. Growing up in Alberta some of the shoes I wore earned me that street walker title in whispers, six inch heels and me already at a height of 5'9. However, the way they made me feel and the pointing and staring at something people around here haven't seen before gave me a high. The same high that ultimately started my company vicious vixen footwear. I was in Calgary one night wearing a favourite pair of spiked heels that are aerodynamic and don't actually have a heel. I saw people pointing, whispering, girls looking at them in the mirror needing to know where I got them. And I said to myself... You've been wearing heels like this long enough, maybe you should start your own company.
