Description

We are an Oklahoma family owned discount grocery store chain. Our grandfather Clint Cox Jr., and great great grandfather Clint Cox, opened the first Warehouse Market on Tulsa Oklahoma in 1938. At the time it was the largest grocery store of its kind, and the train would back up to the warehouse in the back of the store. (Our grocer history actually began before Warehouse Market and Oklahoma Statehood) Clint Jr. eventually bought the chain from Clint Sr. Then later he bought out his sister out with the help of his friends John Flint, Walt Helmrich, and John Williams. After everyone experienced the ups and downs of the grocery business, Clint Jr. had to buy out his friends. By the time Clint Jr. passed away in 2004, he went through 3 buyouts, 2 labor strikes, 2 oil busts, and the end of the great depression. In the end he learned several things about grocery: keep low to no debt, treat employees with the utmost honor, and sell everything cheap. In all of his years of experience, the successful method of running stores was the same! We still maintain low prices on warehoused grocery, produce, and fresh cut meats to this day.
