Westheights Public School or just Westheights, is a school in Kitchener, Ontario. Westheights Public School is located at the west end of the city, in the subdivision of Forest Heights and a community called Westheights. The school is on the corner of Westheights Drive and Driftwood Drive, across from Driftwood Plaza.Westheights was built in 1978, to alleviate overcrowding at Queensmount Public School because of the new neighbourhood developing around it.Approximately 420 students currently go to Westheights Public School. Back in the early years of Westheights, the school taught kindergarten all the way to Grade 8. After a while it had changed to a school that had Grades 6, 7, and 8. For September 2010, Westheights had to remove Grade 6 from their school, leaving it as a Grade 7 and 8 school. After grade eight, most students go to either Forest Heights Collegiate Institute (secular) Resurrection Catholic Secondary School (catholic). Students come to Westheights from John Darling Public School and Driftwood Park Public School. In 2010, with the removal of Grade 6, students from Sandhills P.S. and Meadowlane P.S. started to attend Westheights as well.HistoryThe original team name was "Wings" and changed in 1990 to "Warriors". School colours were originally black and white.
