A a non-profit theatrical dance company dedicated to giving local kids an outlet for their creative and physical activities. www.windsordanceexperience.ca Windsor Dance eXperience is a non-profit theatrical dance company dedicated to giving local youth (ages 6-30) an outlet for their creative and physical activities. Since its incorporation in 2003, WDX has produced over 30 stage productions and have been featured in the Windsor Fringe Festival, the Tecumseh Cornfest, three Windsor Symphony Orchestra performances, and a collaboration with Matthew Romain of the Join Hands Puppeteers for a family presentation with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Windsor Dance eXperience aims to provide the ultimate theatrical experience to anyone who has the heart and love for the arts. Whether performing, working backstage or enjoying a performance, WDX is an experience for everyone. Windsor Dance eXperience believes in understanding its members and recognizes them as individuals with unique ideas and styles. WDX encourages everyone, young and old, to come out and enjoy performing. The company exists so that those who haven't the means or outlet to dance can now do so. All Ages and abilities are welcome and included; experience is not required, it is given. WDX provides a positive pastime for youths and a great learning environment for acting and dancing. There are many opportunities to work in all aspects of theatre: backstage, costume design and set construction, and last but not least, performing experience. Additionally, youths are able to gain volunteer experience for all the time that they put in assisting the company.

COMMUNITY • WDX is always working to enrich the cultural lives of local youth. We also recognize the importance of involvement and support within the community. In 2004, WDX collaborated with Community Living Windsor to present free shows and raise funds for the Windsor Downtown Mission. In 2006 we proudly presented “Imagine”, a show promoting peace. One dollar for every ticket sold was donated to War Child Canada. WDX has been able to offer subsidized school shows to allow children of all ages to enjoy the genuine theatre experience. EDUCATION • WDX considers youth involvement and arts education to be fundamental. We are proud to provide a positive environment and creative outlet for children of all ages; a place where they are given the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the performing arts as well as develop self-esteem. We also reach out to local elementary schools by offering shows specifically for field trips, allowing students the chance to see a professional performance at discounted rates. These opportunities are made possible through generous contributions from our sponsors. HOW YOU CAN HELP • As a non-profit organization, it is thanks to help from our generous sponsors that WDX has been successful since 2003. Between the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior companies, we perform up to 4 major productions annually in venues throughout Windsor. Such an undertaking requires colourful costumes, spectacular sets and a lot of help from the community. We are asking that the public help bring a unique face to the arts scene and help provide our youth with something special. SPONSORSHIP • WDX welcomes sponsorship in any form. We have been sponsored by some in the form of services rendered – including props, set pieces, and photography. We also offer monetary donor packages complete with advertising and ticket benefits. Having celebrated almost 10 years of operation in the local arts community, Windsor Dance eXperience is still going strong. We currently work with a company of over 50 dancers between the three companies. If you are interested in becoming involved or would like more information, please contact us by phone or email. VOLUNTEER • Windsor Dance eXperience is run with the help of people like you. We are always looking for those who could lend a hand. You might be a dancer, a parent, a friend, or someone who is interested in theatre. Remember, these volunteer hours can go towards the prerequisite hours high school students need for their graduation!
