Opportunity International (OI) is an international not for profit microfinance organization with a global reputation for operational excellence. The organization strives to end global poverty by providing a sustainable approach to development through the provision of financial services including, but not limited to: small loans, financial advice, savings groups and insurance. In addition, they also provide training in financial literacy, business management, agriculture and education. The main purpose of the club is to educate and bring awareness to the use of microfinance as a sustainable tool to help alleviate poverty. On campus our club will fundraising on behalf of Opportunity International Canada , participating in networking sessions across Ontario and educating one another on the affects of microfinance as a development tool.
