Develop confidence and technique for public speaking, preparation for auditions/job interviews, learn how to perform pieces of physical theatre/prose/poem/character work for eisteddfods, and develop/enhance refined interpretive acting skills
A little bit of performance skill will never go astray in life – whether it is developing confidence and technique for public speaking, opening up different avenues of creativity, learning how to perform pieces of physical theatre/prose/poem/character work for eisteddfod competitions, or developing and enhancing refined interpretive acting skills for film and television. QJAM’s drama classes will touch on all of these elements, and will tailor to the interests of students within the class. The most important goal to be achieved through D’s drama classes is to develop confidence, creativity, interpretive skills within the students, and enhance their abilities to collaborate in an artistic fashion. There will also be a focus on audition techniques, which are not only essential in the creative industry, but also give you the key skills when going for other more generic job interviews. D’s wrap sheet includes: • performing theatrical drama on stage in eisteddfods and productions since age 2 • undertaken Trinity College examinations from London in Speech & Drama, Interpretive Acting and Musical Theatre • studied Interpretive Acting, Creative Performance and Theatre for Children and Young People (CYPT/TIE) with the University Of Southern Queensland • studied Creative and Devised Performance in the United Kingdom with Pol Brown • worked as acting talent as featured lead and as an extra for film & television since 2002. She is currently studying stage management at the University of Southern Queensland, and her work with directors, producers, adjudicators, technicians, choreographers and performers over the past 3 years has given her the inside information to the requirements, expectations, and golden points that all these potential employees are looking for in the talent they hire. Are you ready to discover the actor within?
