Active Minds, Inc. is a non-profit mental health awareness organization who utilize the conversation about mental health on college campuses. There are more than 400 Active Minds chapters nationwide. Active Minds at Riverside City College is a 5-Star Chapter which is the highest rating a chapter can earn. Active Minds at Riverside City College is highly involved in school activities as well as our own meetings, executive meetings, events, workshops, art therapy, puppy therapy, PostSecret U, and Mental Health Awareness Weeks. We meet every Tuesday from 12:50 PM to 1:50 PM in Quadrangle room 102 (unless stated otherwise). We always welcome new members and if you're interested in joining Active Minds at Riverside City College, please contact us at activemindsrcc@gmail.com. Requirements to earn service hours: - Your RCC Student Service Fees in Riverside Campus must be paid. We are an all-volunteer organization and 100% of every contribution is for the rescue center NOT a salary. Today, we are guided and inspired by a shared vision of working with the authorities and the community in Riverside County and San Bernardino County. We are wholeheartedly committed and dedicated to continue providing 24 hours a day lifesaving emergency volunteer assistance by intervening when a wild burro needs to be rescued in dire situations at a moment's notice. The wild burros are federally protected animals and it is illegal to shoot, kill, feed, poison, herd, rope or kidnap any of the burros. Every wild burro rescued at DonkeyLand is always done with permission, without permission it is illegal. Please help to protect these innocent animals and if you see anything wrong or even suspicious do NOT hesitate to call the Police Department and/or your local Animal Control Center.
