Description

Historically, culturally, and legally, public funding of extracurricular activities in Ohio is limited. Students have traditionally relied upon parental support in the form of cash donations, fundraisers, and transportation. For many students, this is not viable. 66% of the students in the Cincinnati Public School District are at or below the Federal Poverty Line. Children are left without the benefit of extracurricular activities. Since our inception in 2004, we have generated over $3,000,000 which has been utilized in athletics, the arts and music. To provide the necessary support for every Cincinnati Public School student to engage in extracurricular activities throughout the year, offering the opportunity to build leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and self-discipline to help them succeed in life.

Stray Animal Adoption Program Adoptable Animals
Newport , KY 41071 United States

Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) is an all- volunteer, non-profit organization that exists to rescue, protect, and provide care for at risk pets. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets. We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are microchipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you? We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Ohio Chapter
null

The Ohio Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has been at the forefront of a wide range of suicide prevention initiatives -- each designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. We are investing in groundbreaking research, new educational campaigns, innovative demonstration projects and critical policy work. And we are expanding our assistance to people whose lives have been affected by suicide, reaching out to offer support and offering opportunities to become involved in prevention. We are increasing the number of community-based chapters, now at 50, with two-dozen more in development. And we have a growing list of friends and supporters leading a grassroots constituency that can advocate for the policies and legislation at the state and federal levels to advance suicide prevention. With a suicide attempt estimated to occur every minute of every day in the United States and over 36,000 lives lost each year, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
