We are an inclusive gateway service that helps people become more active. Breaking Down Barriers - Building Confidence - Empowering People. ActivNess was founded with the aim of helping people become more active in Inverness and the surrounding area. We hope to break down barriers, connect with people that wouldn’t normally engage in activities, and act as a gateway for people who wish to embark on a healthier, happier, more active lifestyle. Our services can be used by anyone in the Inverness area wishing to improve their health, fitness, and wellbeing. Our social mission is to assist people who experience chronic stress, anxiety disorders, or depression to restore mental balance by becoming more physically and socially active through the participation of exercise and recreational activities. Our website includes a Directory of Activities within the Inverness area. Our aim is to compile a comprehensive list of what activities are available, and make them as accessible as possible by partnering with local Activity Providers to offer free taster sessions to help reduce any financial barriers that exist. We also offer 'Stepping Stone' Coaching Sessions and Programmes which are all about building confidence and skill in a friendly, supportive environment. They aim to help people gain the physical skills, and build confidence in their abilities, to try the wide variety of recreational activities and services offered locally, all of which can be found in our ‘Activity Directory’.

With understanding and support ActivNess aims to help people improve their health, fitness, and wellbeing through movement and the participation of recreational activities. We believe breaking down as many barriers as possible and providing the support needed will give people the best chance of becoming more active. By providing a comprehensive Activity Directory for the use of everyone around the Inverness area, we hope people will discover the wide range of activities offered locally. By making this service free to our website users, and free to the activity providers, we hope to create a vibrant information hub that we can use as a platform to help raise awareness of the benefits of keeping active when it comes to our mental and physical health. By offering 'stepping stone' Coaching Services to anyone who feels they would like a little extra support or reassurance in their journey to better health and fitness, we hope to encourage and assist as many people as possible to restore balance, and discover passion, in an active life. Our Mission is to break down barriers, connect with people that wouldn’t normally engage in activities, and act as a gateway for people who wish to embark on a healthier, happier, more active lifestyle. Our Vision is a society where everybody has the opportunity to improve their mental and physical wellbeing through recreational activities.

ActivNess services include: (1) Informing people of what activities are available in Inverness and the surrounding area through the ActivNess Directory. (2) Connecting members with the activities they wish to try. (3) Delivering ‘Stepping Stone’ Coaching Sessions and Programmes that will give people the physical skills, and confidence, to try new activities. (4) Promoting activity based groups, clubs, organisations, businesses, instructors, and coaches within the Inverness community. (5) Inspiring and motivating through a wide range of media. ActivNess aims to: (1) Help people get active. (2) Promote the physical and mental benefits of keeping active. (3) Support local sport and exercise development. (4) Provide a marketing platform for activity based businesses. (5) Collaborate with local activity providers.
