Actors' Equity Association is the performing arts union representing more than 50,000 professional stage actors and stage managers in the U.S. #EquityWorks ACTORS' EQUITY ASSOCIATION, founded in 1913, is the U.S. labor union that represents more than 50,000 professional actors and stage managers. Equity endeavors to advance the careers of its members by negotiating wages, working conditions and providing a wide range of benefits (health and pension included). Actors' Equity is a member of the AFL-CIO, and is affiliated with FIA, an international organization of performing arts unions. Actors' Equity and its Foundation administer several prestigious awards at the national and regional level that acknowledge the accomplishments of its members. The awards were established to honor performers or individuals who have shown dedication to the American theatre and the mission of the union, such as Clarence Derwent, Lucy Jordan, Rosetta LeNoire and Paul Robeson among others. Equity has offices in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles/North Hollywood and Orlando.
