How to Maintain Braided Hair Instructions 1 Pull braids into a loose ponytail before going to bed (if your braids are long enough). Then cover them with a silk or satin scarf or hair bonnet. You can cover shorter braid styles with a bonnet, but longer braids need to be covered with a scarf. 2 Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase if you don't want to sleep in a hair cover. The silk or satin prevents braids from rubbing against rough cotton pillowcases and frizzing up. 3 Shampoo braids gently. It's best to do this in the shower. When you cleanse your braids, apply a small amount of shampoo to your hands and create a lather. Then apply the shampoo to your scalp. Rub your scalp with your fingertips. You can easily fit your fingers in the braid partings. 4 Rub your scalp clean and let the water work the lather down into the braids. Squeeze the lather in gently, but don't rub it in. 5 Rinse thoroughly, paying special attention to get all the shampoo out of your braids, especially if you have extensions. Let the water flow in a downward motion and work it through your hair with your fingers. You can let air or blow dry low heat. 6 Apply natural hair oils to your scalp, if desired. Massage the oils in and then rub your hands down the length of your braids to distribute the oils to the rest of your hair. Spray braid with sheen. ENJOY YOUR BRAIDS!! •

Cleaning Extensions after Swimming The chlorine found in swimming pools and salt found in the ocean can be damaging to hair extension . In general, the more processed the extensions (ex: Bohemian), the less they can handle being in the water. If you have high quality extensions, they should be fine with proper care. Follow these steps to keep your hair looking great. You Will Need: • High moisturizing conditioner • Towel • Hair wrap The Cleaning Process: 1. The most important thing when swimming with extensions is to clean the hair immediately afterwards to avoid damage from chemicals, 2. chlorine and salt. 3. Rinse hair thoroughly to remove all chemicals. If necessary, wash hair following instructions above. 4. Allow hair to air-dry / blow dry on low heat completely. 5. If hair becomes dry, follow these steps: 1. Apply high moisture conditioner to hair 2. Wrap in a moist, warm towel . 3. Let the conditioner remain on hair for 10-30 minutes. 4. Rinse as normal.
How to Make Your Weave Soft and Not Greasy Use rose water to keep your weave moisturized but not greasy. Hair extensions are useful for creating length, volume, or both in your hair. One way to wear hair extensions is with weaves. To create them, the hair dresser sews extensions into the tracks or braids. The hair is braided in cornrows underneath. The weave lays over those braids so that you do not see them. There are both synthetic weaves and ones made of natural hair available. Take care of it properly and learn how to make your weave soft and not greasy. Instructions 1 Wash your weave using a gentle shampoo. Shampoo, starting at the top and going to the bottom. Always wash in one direction. After washing out the shampoo, apply a moisturizing conditioner going from top to bottom. Focus on the ends. Leave the conditioner on for five to seven minutes and rinse out thoroughly. 2 Mix together two parts distilled water and one part rosewater. Put it in a spray bottle and mix it up by shaking it. Spray it on the weave, focusing on the ends. Spray it two or three times, depending on the length of the weave. Work into the weave with your hands. 3 Apply a small amount of styling cream if your weave needs further detangling. Comb through it with a wide-tooth comb. Allow it to air-dry if possible. Blow-dry it on low heat if necessary.
