During the critical hours after school, children without supervision and structure are more likely to get into trouble compared to those participating in after-school programs and activities. Orange County Public Schools statistics show youth that are involved in the Orlando After-School All-Stars program benefit both educationally and behaviorally: 80% improved their Reading and Math FCAT scores 75% improved their overall final subject grades from the previous year 88% received final grades of "C" or higher in Language Arts and Math 60% increased attendance compared to non-participants 70% reduction in school suspensions per year compared to non-participants
