APAS is Saskatchewan’s general farm organization - formed to provide farmers and ranchers with a democratically elected, grassroots, non-partisan, producer organization based on rural municipal boundaries. As the united voice of thousands of agricultural producers in Saskatchewan, we strive to represent the views of a wide variety of agricultural stakeholders in order to form comprehensive policies that can benefit all sectors of society. APAS was formed from a resolution during the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) convention in the Fall of 1999, as an organization that could provide sound farm policy on behalf of Saskatchewan producers. In December 2000, the first APAS Board of Directors was elected. The Mission of the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) is: · To improve the economic well-being of Saskatchewan’s agricultural producers, and · To support viable rural communities and infrastructure through lobbying for progressive agricultural policies. Our Vision APAS serves as the voice for agriculture in Saskatchewan. APAS envisions a future where agriculture is profitable, rural communities are viable and the role of agriculture in society there is recognized and appreciated.
