General Info
The Alaska Division of Forestry consists of the Wildland Fire/Aviation and Forest Resource programs. The Wildland Fire and Aviation Program provides safe, cost-effective and efficient fire protection services and related fire and aviation management activities to protect human life and values on State, private and municipal lands. The wildland fire program cooperates with other wildland fire agencies on a statewide, interagency basis. The Forest Resource Program manages forests for multiple uses and the sustained yield of renewable resources on 20 million acres of State land. This includes the Tanana Valley, Haines, and Southeast State Forests. The program conducts personal use, commercial timber, and fuel-wood sales. It emphasizes in-state use of wood for value-added processing.Company Rating
