Alderney Landing exists to enhance the recreational and cultural life of the region. The Norman Newman Market was donated in memory of Norman Newman ~ 1928-1993. Norm operated Capital Stores Ltd. in the Halifax-Dartmouth area, having taken the business over from his father, Abe, and his uncles in the late 1940’s. Alderney Landing houses a professional, fully-equipped 285 seat theatre - the perfect destination for a night on the town or your troupe's next production. Alderney Landing Theatre is host to professional performance and dance groups from around the world, as well as adapting to serve its clients and community in Nova Scotia. Our vendors offer you a wide variety of product from the best in locally produced food, to home-style baked goods and much more. Products and vendors vary with seasons. The Norman Newman Market is located on the ground floor of Alderney Landing. It is open to the public 7 days a week. The Alderney Landing Market is home to several permanent vendors.
