Alicia Wilson joined the Law Firm of Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander in September 2008 as an associate in the Firm's Litigation Practice Group. Alicia’s practice covers a wide range of commercial litigation matters including business and contract disputes and litigation of claims arising from banking and lending transactions. Alicia’s practice also includes representing individuals in custody and employment matters. Alicia Lynn Wilson was the 2004 Andrew Levy Leadership Scholar at the University of Maryland School of Law. Alicia was born and raised in east Baltimore and is proud to call herself a “Baltimorean”. While in high school and throughout college and law school, Alicia has worked actively with Baltimore community organizations such as the Public Justice Center, the Learning Bank, the House of Ruth, the Maryland Disability Law Center, and the Office of the Baltimore City Solicitor. In late 2004, she was named the 2004 George L. Russell Scholar at the School of Law. Alicia graduated valedictorian from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School (“Mervo”) in 2000. Ebony Magazine recognized her as one of the “Top 50 High School Students” in the country. As a high school student, Alicia volunteered as a mentor to middle school students, organized school supply drives for children living at the House of Ruth, and served as President of the Math Engineering Science Achievement (“MESA”) club. As a senior, Alicia was awarded the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship, the College Bound Scholar of the Year Award, the Jacob and Hilda Blaustein Public Affairs Scholarship, the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship, and two Dr. Benjamin Carson Scholarships. After graduating from Mervo, Alicia attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where she majored in Political Science. She was recognized by the UMBC community as a Janet and Walter Sondheim Public Affairs Scholar and a Jacqueline Hrabowski and Harbor City Links Scholar. Over the course of her college career, she served as the Director of Diversity of Affairs for the student government association, campus coordinator of Oxfam America, student liaison on the UMBC’s Commission for Women, and the Director of Community Service for the UMBC Chapter of the NAACP. Alicia graduated with highest honors in 2004 and was named as the UMBC Political Science student of the year. In 2003, Alicia was named the Harry S. Truman Scholar for the state of Maryland. She is the first student in the history of UMBC to be awarded this honor. The Truman Scholarship is a National Award bestowed upon one college junior from each state that demonstrates exceptional leadership potential and who is committed to making a difference through public service. While at the University of Maryland School of Law, Alicia served as the co-captain of the University of Maryland National Trial Team, the #1 trial team in the country. Alicia believes that it is her mission to help young people who live in her community to also find their voice. During law school, Alicia taught a Political Science Course titled “Forming a Legal Argument” and coaches the Mock Trial Team at the Baltimore Freedom Academy. After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Law in May 2007, Alicia clerked with the Honorable Judge David Young for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Upon completion of her clerkship, Alicia began as a Commercial Litigation and Family Law Associate with the firm of Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander. Alicia gives all praise and honor to Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ for the blessings she has experienced. It is her honest belief that any measure of success she has achieved is due to the overwhelming generosity of her parents, mentors, and friends. It is her ardent desire to be a source of encouragement and support to young people who like herself strive for greatness.
