My name is Alastair 'Monty' Montgomery. I have been working with children and young adults for the past 13 years. I have worked in state school settings, inner-city charity programs, residential activity camps, boarding schools and with specific learning needs. Principally I work with students on underlying processes that affect their learning experience. I work with children from 5 years of age to adults teaching numeracy, literacy and comprehension; and apply these essential learning processes to the student's age-appropriate resources/subject of study. I have extensive experience working with children with specific learning needs. I often teach students with dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia and students with ASD, ADD and ADHD. The teaching methods I use incorporate sensory-cognitive language to stimulate sensory feedback and dual-coding processes. AM Tuition offers short courses on preparation to apply to selective schools; offering interview coaching, exam preparations and revision. I also teach students practical skills such as study skills, essay planning and writing, and revision skills.
