Description

The American College of Healthcare Trustees (ACHT) is a national professional association for health care boards of directors. We support both current and aspiring board members by providing education, networking, and documentation of their preparation. Our Goals: Serve as a one-stop resource center for health care boards Promote governance that fosters high quality health services that is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations Offer educational opportunities for board members and aspiring board members Document successful completion of educational efforts Provide networking opportunities Maintain an organization that is respectful of board members whom it serves Emphasize education that is patient centered ACHT offers online courses in a variety of topic areas related to board governance issues. All courses are developed by recognized subject matter experts. Generally, a course consists of a power point presentation with narration by the course developer. It is followed by a short quiz and includes links to related resource materials. Course length is approximately one hour. On request, course developers may be available by email or phone to provide feedback on specific issues encountered by enrollees. Benefits of Membership Education: Acquire new knowledge, skills, and abilities to use on behalf of the member’s institution. Network: Attend ACHT conferences and workshops. Consult with colleagues over difficult questions impacting the member’s institution. Publish: Make one’s views heard through blogs, newsletters, e-mails, etc. Qualified members have the opportunity to write educational programs and receive royalties.
