The original A Mi Japanese Restaurant first opened in 2003 and by 2005, M & J Management Company took over its ownership and became the best Sushi Restaurant in Westwood. KCAL 9, a local television station, nominated A Mi Japanese Restaurant as “The Best Japanese Restaurant in Westwood.” Also, New York Magazine wrote a praising news article about its unique taste and quoted “the best bang for your buck”. A Mi location is a perfect joint for private parties where disc jockeys come out on the weekends to provide enhanced entertainment for the parties. This location is known for its upbeat environment, friendly service and “the best bang for your buck.” The main dining hall has a television projector that shows UCLA games to cater to their top clientele group as well as other nationally televised sports programs. A Mi has earned the reputation of being “the hot spot in Westwood”. On top of that, it has also become the suitable place to host graduation parties. Please call ahead to make your reservation, about a month prior to your graduation, as the seats fill up quickly during that season. A Mi Japanese Restaurant has been working with UCLA’s cultural organizations and Greek chapters to host events for Awards Ceremonies Cultural Days, Staff Appreciation Days, Annual Graduation Ceremonies and much more. Last but not least, A Mi Japanese Restaurant has been active in hosting Film Festivals and numerous screening openings. In recent years, they hosted movies such as The Bedtime Stories starring Adam Sandler, The Dinner for Schmucks starring Steve Carell (coming in summer) and also some nationally televised commercials, including Ford Motor Company and possible suitor for upcoming episodes of The House to name a few. A Mi Japanese Restaurant’s unique architecture allows us to showcase their beautiful ambiance, attractive venue, food and service not limited to the local clienteles but even out to the moviegoers!
