Originally from Halifax, NS, Andrea graduated from ICT Northumberland College of Massage Therapy in 2004. Since graduating Andrea has developed a treatment style to provide the most effective treatments possible. Post Graduate courses include: Deep Tissue Release/ Sports Massage Myofascial release of the cervical spine and shoulder region Myofascial release of the TMJ Crainiosacral Level 1 & 2 Somato emotional Release Level 1 Nerve Mobilization — focus on the impact of trauma and whiplash Nerve Mobilization for the upper limb (frozen shoulder, numbness and tingling issues, thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel, etc...) Nerve Mobilization for the lower limb (low back pain, sciatic pain, knee pain, issues post pregnancy, weak foot arch, etc...) Cranial Nerve Release -- focus on trauma in the head and face (headaches, migraines, TMJ issues, chronic sinus issues, etc...) Andrea has worked in both a clinical and spa setting through her career, treating everything from: work related injuries, sports injuries, motor vehicle injuries, to everyday issues that arise. Her previous experience as a private nanny, also gives her an edge when working with children (0-18) who are dealing with injures, chronic conditions or just wanting to know what massage therapy is about. Andrea, also, has special interest working with athletes, and has had the pleasure of volunteering with the Highland Dancers of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, performing sports massage during their performances in both July 2012 and July 2013. She has also been able to volunteer as sports massage therapist with the Atlantic Pole Sport Championship held here in Halifax, September 2012. As well as recently crossing the Atlantic to work with those competitors on a world stage at the World Pole Sport Championship held in London, England July 2013. The goals Andrea sets out to achieve with each and every client is not only to reduce and alleviate symptoms that have arose, but to also provide education to help each client improve their symptoms between treatments.
