Welcome Angel -(adjective); messenger of God, a divine heavenly messenger; a divine being. With a name appropriately fitting for an artist, its no wonder he doesn't bare wings! When it comes to painting faces, Celebrity Makeup Artist Angel Avitia has a way with a brush that most will describe as having a heavenly touch. He has mastered his craft with such divinity and accuracy that he has become the most sought after artist to some of the most affluent fashion runways in New York City. Angel's humble beginnings started in Kansas City, Missouri, where as a young man he decided to expand his horizons to accompany his flair for the lavish life of New York City' bright lights, big city landscape. The scene in New York is reminiscent of what Angel had dreamed of years earlier. Fast forward to 2002, Angel decided to make that dream a reality. His work first surfaced at the posh Fifth Avenue Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa as the lead Makeup Artist on hand to create looks for many of the social elite and celebrity clientele. Angel continued to become zealous after his experience with a client who sought out for a new look and he was able to provide her with his mastery of makeup artistry to her delight, that she has been quoted as saying, "Angel is truly a remarkable makeup artist!" In 2007, Angel was quite busy showcasing his craft for the pages of Giant magazine working on celebrity editorials for Covergirl, actress and recording artist of the popular 3LW Girl Group, Adrienne Bailon also known for her acting debut in Disney's "The Cheetah Girls" and the E Network reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Angel has continued on this consistent creative odyssey as the key makeup artist for Bryant Park's prestigious Olympus Fashion Week shows that have included Perry Ellis, Alfred Fiandaca,Lisa Thon and Miguel Antoinne. Just as fashion is pertinent to life here in the city, so is giving back. Angel has donated his skill, his amazing craft and time to the wonderful cause "Women Together For Charity" that brought out celebrities, socialites and industry tastemakers to raise money for various children charities. Another opportunity arose to donate his time and talent to benefit the The Forte Charity Show that raises money for Guildas Club at place, a place provided as a meeting place for woman, children, and families living with cancer.. Angel has stamped out his impression in the fashion world with 2009 being a year that turned his talent into success as he became the lead makeup artist for the Fox News coverage of the 2nd Annual Chocolate Show in New York City, where live models are covered in chocolate with an artistic perspective. Which then lead to another highlight in his career, as the assistant makeup artist for the Fashion Forward Show hosted by Lifetime's Project Runway Style Guru, Tim Gunn. Most recently, Angel has fulfilled another part of his long time dream to become a hairstylist and open his own vision salon, which puts him quite ahead of his counterparts making him a double threat to take on the fashion industry full force. With all this success, Angel has yet to retreat from his path. His journey is his and he will continue to inspire, create, educate and impress for years to come.
