Hi All! I need your help. I am looking for exhibitors and sponsors interested in participating in the 2015 Canadian Professional Trainers Network Conference this year. It runs in Toronto from June 4th to 6th. Do you have any contacts or know of any companies that might like a chance to be promoted to over 300 personal trainers (and, by extension, their clients!) at the conference? Thanks for letting me know!
A colleague of mine posted this and I thought it would be great to share. Thanks Randy! Take a look at a very common (but often overlooked!) source of that pain in your bum! Yep, that very pesky ischial femoral impingement issue you didn't know you had: http://bit.ly/1zSVhlr
I like this ebook by Bret Contreras - 'List of Squat, Deadlift, Hip Thrust and Lunge Progressions'. My clients, however, may have a different opinion...http://bit.ly/1IxsvOi
A quick trick to remembering the number of vertebrae in different areas of your spine: 7 am, 12 noon and 5 pm - we have 7 cervical vertebrae (neck), 12 thoracic vertebrae (mid back) and 5 lumbar vertebrae (lower back). Neat eh? If you are an anatomy geek...
I have washboard abs. But there is laundry on top!
The new Mac lilyPad?? This afternoon an older client of mine was VERY excited to share with me some fudge that she made last evening. As I tried a piece, (delicious!) I asked her where she found the recipe. She replied, "It's from my daughter's lily pad." After about five minutes of questions I realized my client was referring to her daughter's new iPad...
Come out and join me for my one day preconference course at the Canadian Professional Trainers Network (CPTN) Annual Conference. On Friday, June 5th I'd love to see you! Business Essentials for Personal Trainers: http://bit.ly/1yQuCXd
Have you ever been bribed when working with a client? As I sit down this evening to work on my day's clinical notes, I remember an early afternoon session today with an almost-88-year-old client. We sat down together to discuss what our session would look like today. This client has congestive heart failure and COPD so the content of her sessions can vary widely. Today I asked her to walk with me through the long hallway that crosses her building's lobby. She looked at me very seriously and said, "I'll only do it if I can take my walker and we can have some ice cream after." "Done.", I said. It was Haagen Dazs coffee flavour. Delicious.
An interesting link in the Report on Business section today in the Globe and Mail. Read about a great pension idea for those of us who are self employed entrepreneurs! http://bit.ly/1CMuEAT
