Assertive outreach means: either through our own efforts or by referral from others, we locate, identify and assist homeless veterans Australia-wide. About Us V360 Australia Ltd. has been established as a registered charity with the aim of conducting assertive outreach, raising awareness and providing ongoing support for homeless veterans throughout Australia. On any one night it is estimated that many Australian Defence Force Veterans are sleeping in conditions that are classified as homeless. V360 Australia Ltd. was first modelled in October 2015. We are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC) and we have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status through the Australian Tax Office, meaning all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible. Founder - Jay Devereux As the founder of V360 Australia Ltd. Jay brings a wealth of experience into the sphere of veteran homelessness. Having experienced homelessness and the complicating factors that lead to and exist during these times, he has volunteered his time since April 2015 to follow a mission of eradicating veteran homelessness. He has travelled Australia working tirelessly to locate, identify and assist homeless veterans into crisis care, permanent accommodation and recovery from mental health conditions, alcohol and substance use. In late September 2015 he considered his position within the contemporary ex-services organisational structure and partnered with a number of like-minded people to robustly approach this area of need in critical care and establish an holistic model of recovery through ongoing support. Jay’s ultimate aim is to ensure V360 Australia Ltd. are able to reach any at risk veteran and veteran family experiencing homelessness and work with them to facilitate suitable and sustainable housing; access acute medical and mental health care and provide for support, advocacy and after-care into their future. "Our aim is to help today's veterans succeed in tomorrow's world and provide solutions for veteran homelessness." If you know of anyone who is a veteran of the Australian Defence Force or an allied service (including police, fire and ambulance) and is experiencing homelessness please contact us via Facebook message or email info@v360.org.au and we will endeavour to find the veteran and transition them into permanent accommodation. Operations The team at V360 Australia Ltd. commenced operations in Perth, WA in November 2015. We have expanded into New South Wales and Queensland. Once training has been conducted for our coordinators, will take the model to all states. Charity ABN: 47 609 285 681
SSF is a safe, non judgemental forum which provides support for survivors of suicide, raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Suicide Shatters Families was founded in September 2015 by Laura Wilder-Bass ain honour of her husband who she lost to suicide. The starting aim for the organisation was to help raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health in Australia and abroad. Laura wanted to create a platform from where people who had recently lost a loved one to suicide could speak freely, honestly and openly, without being judged by anyone and with people who had been through similar experiences. The page was a phenomenal success and by April 2017, SSF had gone global – something which Laura could never have predicted. SSF now reaches into 45 different countries around the globe and has amassed a following of over 160,000 people worldwide.
