General Info

Animal Aid Abroad Inc. was started in August 2007 in Perth, Australia with the purpose to improve the conditions and treatment of animals in Alexandria, Egypt. AAA has expanded its operations to help other animals in developing countries such as Nepal and India. AAA is a registered non-profit charity that was set up by Janet Thomas after working and living in Alexandria, Egypt. She witnessed on a daily basis the appalling and cruel treatment of the animals on the streets and in the local zoo. She became aware that no animal welfare facility was set up in Alexandria [Egypt’s second largest city with a population of over 4 million people] so she returned to Australia to raise the money to start a facility that will help the animals in Alexandria. AAA began its work helping in the local zoo with support from a small Alexandria group and Ahmed El Sherbiny from Animal Friends in Cairo to improve the conditions of the animals there. The first win for AAA and our Alex group was freeing a lone Asian elephant from her day chain so she can wander her enclosure freely. We also built her a shade canopy and reinforced her night den so she cannot escape. We then moved onto improving the chimpanzee enclosure by working with the keepers to improve the diet of the 2 resident chimps, providing enrichment in their outside enclosure and campaigning to have their night dens get wooden floors. In December 2008 in partnership with our affiliated group, Animal Aid Egypt, a 24 hr clinic in the city of Alexandria and begun outreach programs with setting up a weekly mobile equine/farm clinic and TNR programs with stray cats and dogs. In 2011-2012, AAA's main focus will be on improving the conditions and treatment of working animals in Egypt, Nepal and India including a new project to assist working elephants in Thailand. AAA will continue to also assist with funds and support when natural disasters should occur in Australia and around the world affecting large populations of animals.

Veterans 360 Australia
Morley , WA 6062 Australia

Assertive outreach means: either through our own efforts or by referral from others, we locate, identify and assist homeless veterans Australia-wide. About Us V360 Australia Ltd. has been established as a registered charity with the aim of conducting assertive outreach, raising awareness and providing ongoing support for homeless veterans throughout Australia. On any one night it is estimated that many Australian Defence Force Veterans are sleeping in conditions that are classified as homeless. V360 Australia Ltd. was first modelled in October 2015. We are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC) and we have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status through the Australian Tax Office, meaning all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible. Founder - Jay Devereux As the founder of V360 Australia Ltd. Jay brings a wealth of experience into the sphere of veteran homelessness. Having experienced homelessness and the complicating factors that lead to and exist during these times, he has volunteered his time since April 2015 to follow a mission of eradicating veteran homelessness. He has travelled Australia working tirelessly to locate, identify and assist homeless veterans into crisis care, permanent accommodation and recovery from mental health conditions, alcohol and substance use. In late September 2015 he considered his position within the contemporary ex-services organisational structure and partnered with a number of like-minded people to robustly approach this area of need in critical care and establish an holistic model of recovery through ongoing support. Jay’s ultimate aim is to ensure V360 Australia Ltd. are able to reach any at risk veteran and veteran family experiencing homelessness and work with them to facilitate suitable and sustainable housing; access acute medical and mental health care and provide for support, advocacy and after-care into their future. "Our aim is to help today's veterans succeed in tomorrow's world and provide solutions for veteran homelessness." If you know of anyone who is a veteran of the Australian Defence Force or an allied service (including police, fire and ambulance) and is experiencing homelessness please contact us via Facebook message or email info@v360.org.au and we will endeavour to find the veteran and transition them into permanent accommodation. Operations The team at V360 Australia Ltd. commenced operations in Perth, WA in November 2015. We have expanded into New South Wales and Queensland. Once training has been conducted for our coordinators, will take the model to all states. Charity ABN: 47 609 285 681

Suicide Shatters Families
Perth , WA 6059 Australia

SSF is a safe, non judgemental forum which provides support for survivors of suicide, raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Suicide Shatters Families was founded in September 2015 by Laura Wilder-Bass ain honour of her husband who she lost to suicide. The starting aim for the organisation was to help raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health in Australia and abroad. Laura wanted to create a platform from where people who had recently lost a loved one to suicide could speak freely, honestly and openly, without being judged by anyone and with people who had been through similar experiences. The page was a phenomenal success and by April 2017, SSF had gone global – something which Laura could never have predicted. SSF now reaches into 45 different countries around the globe and has amassed a following of over 160,000 people worldwide.
