Ann Jones has been passionate about performing arts her entire life! Beginning performing with Dallas Girls Chorus at age 7, she traveled for several years performing for audiences including the President of the United States the bicentennial year, The International Mary Kay Convention at Dallas Convention Center for 5 years in a row, Army, Navy and Air Force, churches, mosques and synagogues, and too many other places to list. Ann says..... Sometime during elementary school a friend invited me to go to her dance class with her and it was instant life long love at first sight! (Thank you, Samantha Hawn) My parents were insistent that I would remain in choir and could not take dance. I began to babysit and do yard work to earn money and pay for my own dancing lessons, with Dallas icons like Nathalie Krassovska, Marjorie Tallchief, Natalie Skelton, and the more I danced the more I LOVED IT. (My parents eventually spent a bundle on dance bless them) My first job was teaching ballet at age 15 at Red Shoes Dance Studio. I also taught for several other now defunct studios and gyms and am still called upon to substitute teach! At age 46 in 2010 I was diagnosed with 4 types of breast cancer and had to have many surgeries and 12 months of weekly chemotherapy which ultimately cost me most of my heart function. I am committed to living today and treating each day as a gift because none of us are assured a tomorrow. Since I can no longer dance or teach, I plan to make dance magic with my camera and a new generation of artists who are as dedicated and infatuated as I.
