Description

With the 5th and 6th Battalions being recruited from Renfrewshire, 7th Battalion from Stirlingshire, 8th from Argyllshire and the 9th Battalion form Dunbartonshire the touring exhibition aims to give each recruitment territory a personal history of their own local boys. With the centenary of WW1 round the corner the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum are undertaking a touring exhibition and working in partnerships with the communities to host the exhibition. This will be done in two parts: the first giving a history of the Battalion, from why it was formed to recruitment boundaries and the second part highlighting the local boys, their training and life before recruitment and in the trenches.
