Description

My name is Arjen Jongeneel and I am a composer and sound designer based in Arnhem, the Netherlands. In 2010 I graduated as a European Media Master of the Arts with honors in 'Composition in Context' at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Since then, I've been working as a freelance composer and sound designer. My main focus lies in creating unique soundworlds for various media, such as animation, documentary, motion graphics, film, videomapping, corporate film and more. I also aim to discover new ideas and possibilities when it comes to being creative with sound and I am always working on broadening my horizon. My latest goal is to use my own field recordings and make a series of compositions in which I only use one sound and transform it into a complete composition. Check out my soundcloud to listen to a few examples. When it comes to music my passion lies in jazz and classical music. You can find elements of both incorporated in my work. I am very driven when it comes to experimenting with sounds and musical concepts. I also spend a lot of my free time on analyzing music in order to understand how it was composed and how I can use those techniques in my own work. Over the years I've had the pleasure to work with different people on all kinds of projects, but I'm always looking for new people to collaborate with and create unique projects!
