Voor ruim 3000 studenten verzorgt ArtEZ een samenhangend aanbod van bachelor- en masteropleidingen in beeldende kunst, architectuur, mode, vormgeving, muziek, theater, creative writing, dans en kunsteducatie. Tegelijkertijd is ArtEZ een gespecialiseerde kennisinstelling, waarin lectoren theorie en praktijk verbinden. ArtEZ werkt samen met een groot aantal partners in binnen- en buitenland, zoals collega-onderwijsinstellingen, bedrijven, overheden en non-profitorganisaties. Artistieke, intellectuele en persoonlijk groei Het onderwijs bij ArtEZ is gericht op de artistieke, intellectuele en persoonlijke groei van studenten. Ze worden opgeleid in een professionele rol die nauw aansluit bij hun talent, persoonlijkheid en ambities. Daarbij worden ze begeleid door docenten die hun sporen in de beroepspraktijk ruimschoots hebben verdiend. The four-year bachelor course Fashion Design, a component of the faculty Art & Design at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, has a long and illustrious history. The department of Fashion Design and Fashion Illustration was established in 1953 by Dutch fashion legend Elly Lamaker, and despite it’s humble beginnings, soon established it’s rightful place in the eyes of existing visual art institutes, the fashion industry, and comparable international design programmes. The fashion programme of ArtEZ Art & Design Arnhem continues to set the standard for education to this day. From there on the department Fashion Design of ArtEZ has continuously expanded. Nowadays a team of more than twenty professionals teach more than 125 both national and international students. There are two first year classes each consisting of 22 students. The higher years consist of approximately 25 students per year. Along with teaching most of the teachers also have their own carriers within the fashion industry. ArtEZ Fashion Design belongs to the most successful fashion institutes in Europe. The Arnhem Fashion students are frequently nominated and awarded national and international prizes, their achievements finding them a great deal of media attention. In all segments of the fashion industry you can find designers educated in Arnhem.
