Good Saturday Evening Everyone, So I'm sure most of you are probably doing something fun this Saturday night, however I am sat in doing some revision and making sure I have another early night. I wanted to share something with you all and be completely honest; last week I had a very stressful week and I haven't felt that way for a long time.I never ask for emotional support or help and I asked a few people for help this last week and these people for one reason or another were not able to support me. Usually in times like that I stay on top of my diet and my training which keeps me sane and strong and have never understood people who said they didn't have time to stay on top of their exercise regimes and health. This week, I understand. My diet was not as good as usual, my cortisol levels were through the roof which left me feeling bloated and horrible, making me feel lethargic and tiered. My training was not as good as it usually is, I have felt weak and rubbish and not actually enjoyed training as I know I wasn't doing a good job. I have felt rubbish at work and not as enthusiastic with my amazing team as usual but they have been great and amazingly understanding and offered me fantastic support. I guess what I am trying to say is that we all have weeks when things are not great and things get on top of us, and priorities change. What I learned today after confiding in a friend who helped my get back on my feet again is that however you feel and whatever your priorities are, looking after yourself needs to be your number one priority no matter one. I have decided on a few things; 1. To make looking after myself my number one priority- sometimes one needs to be selfish 2. stop helping people who do not appreciate your help 3. Understand that the people who care most about you might not be the people that you think 4. stop making an effort with people who you know are not bothered in you and your well being 5. sometimes it is okay to ask for help 6. It is unhealthy to not have emotion, allow yourself to have emotion and recognize them 7. Best of all- DO NOT GIVE UP Saturday night instead of anything else I am getting my life back in order!! Organizing my diary, getting up to date with work and sleep, food prepping nice healthy food for tomorrow and giving my doggies some amazing cuddles that we have missed out on this week. if any of you have had a bad week where things have got on top of you please share if you want to!! a big thanks you those who have been there for me this week, you know who you are!!
