After a long flight and some delays with luggage we all arrived at the hotel last night. This morning we met up with Melissa and Sopheena and are looking forward our first meeting this afternoon.
First leg of our journey to New York is about to begin, Ade and Monica are off to Sydney tonight. We meet up with Ruth, May and Colleen tomorrow in Sydney. Looking forward to the trip..

Our Logo was designed by Makapetik and the story of our logo is as follows: The ATSI Women’s Fund is in the middle surrounded by ATSI women’s organisations, groups and individuals. The fish represent resources of funding and assistance that will come in to the ATSI Women’s Fund and will be then distributed out to the ASI women’s group and individuals. Fish are used as everywhere in Australia there are fish: on the coasts, the inland rivers and the inland lakes after rain. Universally fish are seen as a food resource.

On Tuesday 23 September 2014 the Global Fund for Women hosted the launch of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women's Fund at the International Funders for Indigenous Peoples in New York. This momentous occasion was attended by members of the Philanthropic community for Indigenous organisations and provided the opportunity to showcase Lenore Dembski and Colleen Tighe Johnson's fabulous Aboriginal fashions as well as May Rosas' wonderful Glass and canvas artworks.
