Description

Developed by Joanne Lara, M.A., Autism Movement Therapy combines a structured program of movement and music, connecting the left and right hemispheres of the brain for a “whole brain” cognitive re-mapping approach that significantly increases concentration, focus speech and language and social interactions. AMT, a natural strategy for individuals with autism with limited speech and language communication skills, allows self expression through music and dance while developing a strong sense of self-determination and independence. Movement/Dance course designed for students with autism. This engages students in physical locomotor, stability, and manipulative activities to enhance their motor development, cognition, and social awareness. Taught by certified AMT teachers Clarissa Riojas and Tania Ramos.
