The Back Door Mission works to relieve the burdens of poverty and social dislocation within the economically deprived and street population of Oshawa. Begun as an outreach program of Simcoe Street United Church in 1998, the Back Door Mission became incorporated as a separate not-for-profit organization in January 2014. It is now a registered charity.

Drop in Centre - we provide a safe and warm place to have refreshments and socialize every Thursday and Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm Referrals - We provide links to many social service, health care and other agencies. Advocacy - From time to time we will support clients in negotiations with landlords, government agencies and tribunals, and other organizations.
