From homemade “pop tarts” and oversized English muffins to giant cookies and artisan sandwiches, Bake Sale Cafe & Bakery offers a wide variety of sweet and savory baked goods. Located in the heart of downtown San Diego in the East Village, the quaint home-style bakery is owned and operated by local restaurateur, Terryl Gavre. Made fresh daily, Bake Sale’s flavorful baked goods include decadent muffins, morning pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Bake Sale also serves an array of lunch selections, including artisan sandwiches made on freshly baked bread and filled with albacore tuna salad, cold pastrami, smoked turkey or egg salad, as well as daily soup selections. Gluten-free selections are also available, along with specialty holidays goods. Creative BAKE! baking classes, teaching everything from bread and pies to cakes and other desserts, are held monthly. Open to the public, Bake Sale’s lead baker teaches bakers of all levels the techniques and tips mastered at Bake Sale. Bake Sale also provides baked goods for wholesale accounts, large and small, as well as catering capabilities for everything from birthday parties to corporate meetings.
