Description

The original Balboa Beach Company was founded in 1979 on the Balboa Peninsula by the ferry landing. Located in Balboa, the company sold everything customers needed for the beach, thus The Balboa Beach Company. In 1981, the Balboa Beach Company opened on Balboa Island at 210 Marine Avenue and within two years expanded to twice its original size. By the time the Laguna Beach store opened in 1981 it had become known as Southern California's Favorite Beach Stores. Between 1983 and 1988 The Balboa Beach Company opened three additional stores in Palm Desert, Lake Forest and Palos Verdes. By the early 90’s The Balboa Beach Company’s branded products were being sold in outlets in Camarillo, Barstow and Lake Elsinore. In spite of the brands popular success the flagship store on Balboa Island was closed in 2002 for economic reasons and over the following years the name and trademarks were abandoned. The modern Balboa Beach Company was established in 2013 and offers active and casual wear and accessories with a style that embraces the quintessential southern California beach lifestyle. The Balboa Beach Company has received an overwhelming positive response and we look forward to outfitting nostalgic adults and kids for generations to come. With the renewed popularity of The Balboa Beach Company we are expanding our line and our brand will soon be available in local retail stores.
