Bank Street Framing was founded in April 2012 by it’s owner/craftsman Graham Straw. After a career in management within the haulage industry he took early retirement to pursue his desire to get involved in something creative. His love of wood led him to picture framing and after training at Leeds College and many months honing his skill, he started up Bank Street Framing. Graham loves to work with bare wood mouldings (mainly ash), producing high quality hand made frames. He then hand finishes them, using fine stains, paints, waxes etc., to the highest standard. The finished product is a one off unique frame. Graham offers a mountcutting service, carrying a stock of “Value” mountboard as well as having access to mountboard from all the other major manufacturers. (Peterborough, Daler etc.). He sits down with clients to help them choose the right moulding, mountboard, and finish based on the picture, where it is to be housed, and the customer’s likes and dislikes. He then makes and finishes the frame and assembles it, along with the item to be framed and presents it to the customer ready to be hung. (he can hang it if required). Using his framing skills he also makes mirrors, chalkboards and pin boards of any size to order.
