BarterWorks is a local organization of individuals who exchange goods and services within The Local Exchange network using a localized currency.
The Working Centre supports BarterWorks as a community economic development initiative that provides an infrastructure for organizing, planning and creating exciting barter possibilities. The network has a diverse range of businesses and individuals offering goods and services including construction, accounting services, legal services, child-care, graphic design, clothing, food, health-care, entertainment, computer services and much more. It is a network whose membership combines individuals, organizations, home-based and small businesses. BarterWorks provides the opportunity to trade skills and talents, whether it is a skill used professionally as a hobby, or is a skill not used in a current job.

Today we are comprised of 66 apartments located within the two buildings; the heritage building, built in 1879, and the newer six storey highrise.
Helping send kids in need from the Waterloo Region to summer camp Activa HOT SHOTS Street Hockey Tournament is a one-day hockey tournament featuring entertainment, prizes, Street Fair, Silent Auction, BBQ and family-friendly activities. Proceeds support Family & Children's Services Foundation to ensure that every child has the opportunity to have a summer camp experience where they can build confidence, life skills and self-esteem.
