Battery Park es un parque de 25 acres (10 hectáreas), situado en la punta sur de la ciudad de Nueva York en Lower Manhattan, frente al puerto. El nombre viene de la artillería de los holandeses y británicos que se instalaron allí, con el fin de proteger el puerto. En el extremo norte del parque está el Muelle A, que antes era una estación de bomberos. En el otro extremo se encuentran los restaurantes de Battery Gardens, junto a la Guardia Costera de los Estados Unidos. A lo largo de la costa, se encuentran los muelles de donde parten los ferries con destino a la Estatua de la Libertad y Ellis Island. Hay también una parada en el New York Water Taxi, entre la Estatua de la Libertad y el Ferry Pier A. Hacia el noroeste se encuentra el barrio de Battery Park City, una comunidad planificada construida entre 1970 y 1980. Junto con el Hudson River Park, un sistema de ciclovías y paseos se extienden hasta la orilla del Río Hudson. Una ciclovía se está construyendo a través del parque, que conectará el Río Hudson y el East River.

The Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Completed in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. It has a main span of, and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed.Originally referred to as the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and as the East River Bridge, it was dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge, a name from an earlier January 25, 1867, letter to the editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and formally so named by the city government in 1915. Since its opening, it has become an icon of New York City, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964 and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1972.ConstructionThe Brooklyn Bridge was initially designed by German immigrant John Augustus Roebling, who had previously designed and constructed shorter suspension bridges, such as Roebling's Delaware Aqueduct in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania, Waco Suspension Bridge in Waco, Texas, and the John A. World Trade Center site

The World Trade Center site , formerly known as "Ground Zero" after the September 11 attacks, sits on in Lower Manhattan in New York City. The previous World Trade Center complex stood on the site until it was destroyed in the September 11 attacks; Studio Daniel Libeskind, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Silverstein Properties, and the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation oversee the reconstruction of the site. The site is bounded by Vesey Street to the north, the West Side Highway to the west, Liberty Street to the south, and Church Street to the east. The Port Authority owns the site's land . Developer Larry Silverstein holds the lease to retail and office space in four of the site's buildings.While the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is often identified as the owner of the WTC site, the ownership situation is actually somewhat complex and ambiguous. The Port Authority indeed owns a "significant" internal portion of the site of, but has acknowledged "ambiguities over ownership of miscellaneous strips of property at the World Trade Center site" going back to the 1960s. It is unclear who owns of the site, being land where streets had been before the World Trade Center was built.
