Description

The Carolina College Advising Corps helps low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students find their way to colleges that will serve them well. By providing well-trained, enthusiastic advisers who are close in age and circumstance to the students they serve; the programs aims to increase college-going rates at partner high schools across North Carolina.             Mr. Warché Downing will be serving Ben L. Smith High School in Guilford County as college adviser for the 2013-2014 academic year. Mr. Downing graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013 while majoring in public policy and minoring in social & economic justice. He attended Plymouth High School in Washington County, NC. As a first year adviser, Mr. Downing looks forward to empowering and assisting students as they extract their potential. Every student is unique and has the potential to carry out grand exploits. He is eager to help push students into their greatness and help them find their future paths in which they will thrive.
