One for the Athletes out there in pre season Remember you are trying to get better at your sport and not trying to be a body builder.... So yes you need to add body building movements however you also need to concentrate on getting stronger and faster!! By doing this you will add muscle as well :-) If you just concentrate on Body Building you can actually get slower... Which is the opposite of what you should be focusing on!

RANT for FRIDAY!! Stop caring so much about what other people think.. Because guess what…...99.9% of the time they’re not thinking about you…. So stop giving a shit about people who don't give a shit about you!!!! Be YOU!!! Stop trying to be someone you’re not just so people like you!!! Today’s message is a great one…. I think that 92.3% of the time motivation doesn’t work. You’re probably thinking, Jade what have you been smoking…. Well I think the problem is that motivation does nothing to change the situation you are in, it just makes you feel a sense of fake productivity in your mind and at the end of the day you don’t do anything!!!! However if you get pissed off, get annoyed, get fed up, say no more…. To live your life on your own terms you have get honest with yourself and turn your pain into power!! Tom just moved into a new neighborhood recently. He liked his house and his environment, but there was one thing he didn’t get. His neighbor, Mr. Tan, had a dog that kept howling non-stop. Literally: Day in, day out. “Auuuuuhhhh………. Aaaauhhhh……….” Initially Tom thought the dog was just going through a phase, so he ignored the howls, as he thinks it would eventually stop. But it didn’t. The dog continued howling. “Auuuu…………auuuu………..Auuuhhhhh…….” One day passed. Nothing changed. Second day passed: Still howling. Third day passed, fourth, fifth day. 1 week. 2 weeks. 1 month passed, still howling, with no signs of stopping. “Auuuhhh………….Oouuuuuhhhhh…….Au au auuhhhhh..” Finally, Tom couldn’t stand it anymore. One fine day, he walked over to Mr. Tan’s house to see what was going on. Sure enough, there was the dog, sitting at the front porch, howling pitifully to whoever was walking by. “Auuuhhh…Ouuuhhh….Auuuuuuuuuuuuuu…” On the other hand, Mr. Tan was relaxing on his bench at the lawn, leisurely reading his newspapers and sipping a cup of coffee. Wondering what was going on, Tom walked up to Mr. Tan. Tom: “Hi Mr. Tan, is that your dog?” Mr. Tan: “Which dog?” He glanced around. “Oh that. Yep he’s mine.” Tom: “Why does he keep howling?” Mr. Tan: “Oh, that’s because he’s sitting on a nail.” Tom: “Sitting on a nail?!?” Tom gave the dog a bewildered look. “..Okay… so why doesn’t he just get away from the nail then??” “Well, Tom………” Mr. Tan took a slow sip of his coffee before replying. “…That’s because he doesn’t find it painful enough yet.” So what's your nail??

############################################ There are 2 magic powers when it comes to getting results that last. ########################################### “LAST” being the most important word in that sentence because we don’t have a weight loss problem we have a keeping it off problem. Magic Power #1: The ability to get started. BOOM!! this is a big one. I see this all the time when I speak to mums/ dads and the general public who come and chat to me about how to get results. The biggest thing that sticks out is that they are struggling with the inability to get started. So I've spent a lot of time discovering what the holdup is. You see people are stuck on trying to find what program,exercises, what meal plan they should choose and so forth. And look I have been there and was once very out of shape - so i can relate. But here's the deal Most of the time all the research, the preparation and making sure everything is “Perfect” .. most of the time that’s the secret code for.... “Im scared” Scared you might not be fit enough Scared some weeks you won't lose weight Scared you’re gonna look stupid doing the exercises So let me help you out here and tell you right up front that.. All That Stuff Is Almost GUARANTEED To Happen! Your very first sessions you will probably feel awkward doing some of the exercises (Everyone still laughs at me when I show them exercise as for some reason I pull funny faces and make noises! :-) Your technique is probably gonna need tweaking. Your non gym friends will almost certainly judge you and talk behind your back about how silly you are for trying to better yourself. Because once you start stepping up your game they start reflecting on their lives and it is always easier to bring you down than it is for them to improve themselves too. ( Most people have already experienced this in their life) And since you’ll be putting yourself out there and spending some “ME TIME” which you DO deserve you’re probably going to look stupid to someone. (And if you don’t, you’re doing it wrong.) :-) So …that’s the way it is. And since you know it’s all definitely going to happen (barring some miracle), you can finally stop worrying about it and just get it all out of the way! Better to go on ahead and power through it, you know? Hurry up so you can get to the good stuff. Like cramming down the vegetables when you were a kid so you could finally get dessert. So I thought I would write a list of things for you to get you back on track. You see, I bang on about these things all the time because you need to do these things first before you get into the more advanced techniques. If you do the following, you will start seeing results without having to starve yourself. I even have people who lose weight without reducing their wine intake….I know people still have to have a life too. :-) Also what I kinda realised is that people never really tell you how to get started… So here is a list with tips you can start doing today! 1. You can't out train a bad diet. Once you start an exercise program you just can’t eat the same crap you have been eating thinking it is ok because you are now training so you will burn it off. This is probably the biggest mistake I see! 2. You need to set up a plan with action steps which you can do for the rest of your life so you can get results that last. So many people go out and drastically cut out foods, starve themselves or do hours and hours of exercise in the first few days/weeks. However it soon becomes overwhelming and is something you know you cannot do for the rest of your life so you stop. 3. Don't buy junk food. It’s pretty simple, if it’s not in your house you won’t eat it. 4. Just Eat Real Food… Yes another simple tip…. Just change all the processed foods you’re eating to healthy natural foods. 5. Training with weights helps shape your body and stops you from having the skinny fat look and no it won’t make you look bulky ladies! 6. Start today… Take action….. even if you go for a 20 min walk at lunch or after work. You could even just do 10 push ups. It doesn’t matter how big or small just do something to get the wheel turning. __ Sound Simple?__ Maybe/Maybe not… I mean, it can take people years to figure these steps out. These are the steps that people take who have the bodies most people wish for. If its good enough for them.. you know the rest.
