In 1947 Benny Frank opened his first Pawn Shop in the downtown area with a $500.00 investment. After 67 years of business and superb customer service Bennys has grown to 7 locations through out the El Paso and Horizon area to meet the demand of our growing city. Owners, Saul Frank and Donald Glickstein strive to provide a friendly and warm atmosphere which defies preconceptions about pawnshops. Our great appreciation to our employees is the key to providing outstanding customer service(Saul Frank). Bennys is a place for families to browse. Its shelves are full of new and secondhand goods ranging from musical instruments and stereo systems to unique home decorations and estate jewelry . "Our biggest challenges is in changing peoples perceptions", says President Saul Frank, son of founder Benny Frank who joined his father after attending University of Texas at El Paso in 1974. The people who walk through doors are from all walks of life- not just the down-and- out. Most are honest-hard working people and retirees on fixed incomes who need extra cash until the next payday or pension check. Women will come in and trade their old jewlery for something different. Its great to know that even kids could get their good used instrument for the school band! As in ancient times, pawnshops today meet the public need: They make short-term loans on the value of items that can be reclaimed when your loan is paid off. You can still sell your Gold jewlery or trade Junior's flute for a sax. But Benny's reflects new changes in pawnshop atmosphere, policies and clientele!
