Celebrate the Festival of Lights today at 4:30pm at City Hall! Join Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Newark Municipal Council and Berger Organization President & CEO Miles Berger for the Annual Menorah-Lighting ceremony. Festivities will include musical performances by the Newark Boys Choir School Apprentice Chorus. The program begins in the First Floor Rotunda, with special recognition of Newark’s Jewish heritage and continuing contributions to the City. The Menorah-lighting will then take place outside. City Hall is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel at 920 Broad Street.
The Robert Treat Hotel is now taking reservations for its inaugural "Small Business and Community Holiday Extravaganza." The large-scale celebration, which is catered to smaller companies and organizations, will feature dining and dancing in the hotel’s Tri-State Ballroom on Thursday, Dec. 18. The package includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and soft drinks, with liquor available at an open bar from 6 to 7 p.m. A deluxe buffet dinner and dancing will follow from 7 to 11 p.m., with a variety of main course selections; a dessert station and coffee bar; and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks. The $50 cost per person includes sales tax and service charge. Payment must be made prior to the event.
