Description

Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, a stone's throw from central London, Bhaktivedanta Manor is the UK headquarters of the Hare Krishna movement. Bhaktivedanta Manor is a place to experience the authentic tradition of Bhakti Yoga or the yoga of devotion. The teachings including mantra meditation date back thousands of years and arrived on western shores with Srila Prabhupada, founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in 1965. Inspired by Srila Prabhupada, the late George Harrison of The Beatles kindly donated Bhaktivedanta Manor to ISKCON in 1973. The Manor is now one of the UK’s most popular temples. At Bhaktivedanta Manor there are many things to see and do. Whether meditating in the temple, strolling through the George Harrison Garden, or seeing the cows hand-milked on the farm, your soul is guaranteed some peace and inspiration. For the more inquisitive the theological college provides classes in theology and yoga practice. Although the temple is always open for worship, guided tours are available for visitors every day from 10am to 5pm. All are welcome.
