We provide weather information for a large area from Cooktown to Mackay and west to Mt Isa. Please read our about section for more information. Shane Williams founded Townsville Storms on the 23rd December 2003, Townsville Storms was the first Storm Chasing Website for Townsville and Northern Queensland. This Facebook page has been setup to provide weather related information to its subscribers within it's coverage areas. In addition, Townsville Storms also encourages social interaction and subscribers are quite welcome to post weather related comments and photos to our wall. WHY THE NAME?? - "Townsville Storms" initially started out as a local Townsville page aimed at providing weather information and photos around the Townsville region. However as time went by, our numbers increased from other areas of the state and the decision was to cover areas north of Gladstone. Whilst the name is no longer as relevant as it used to be, it has been difficult to change the it and seeing as though our name is well known to North Queensland, we have left it as is. So yes we are called Townsville Storms for the reasons stated and yes we do represent a greater area but left the page the way it is today simply for the "namesake"
